The Natural Museum of the Tatra National Park commenced its activity on 25 October 1984, on the 30th anniversary of establishing the TNP. Witold Henryk Paryski – creator of the Great Encyclopedia of the Tatras and prof. Mieczysław Klimaszewski – president of the TNP board of trustees participated in creating the first exhibition. Their activity became an important part of the history of environmental protection in the Tatra Mountains. In July 2005, the Tatra Documentation Centre of Zofia and Witold Paryski commenced its activity. Its purpose was to prepare, record and publish materials left by the famous pair of Tatra explorers. Currently, the Centre deals with educational activity by displaying temporary exhibitions related to the Tatra Mountains and environmental protection, screening documentary films, selling books and organizing educational activities, contests and lectures.
